Can you cook? We can. We host paella nights in our hostels in Seville and Granada, so you can come and learn our recipe to impress your friends and make new ones while the sun sets. Our Granada paella serves 60 people, so come hungry! Not only a great place to enjoy the backpacker vibes, but delicious dinner also. We can tailor your paella ingredients so you can have traditional Valencian, seafood, or vegetarian – whichever you choose, it’s still the best in town, with saffron and perfect paella seasoning. Buen provecho!
Can you play Volleyball, and drink beer? It’s easier than it sounds, as you don’t have to do it at the same time. Come to our Beer Volleyball Championships in Lisbon and find out just how much fun it can be. Just grab yourself something comfortable, sunscreen, and join us at the river for some bouncing ball fun. Winner gets free dinner with us too!
If you’ve been to Granada then you will know that this student city is also a magnet for artists, musicians, and of course dancers, all enticed by the city’s beauty. We offer a 3 hour walk around the city’s street art hotspots in the Albayzin, Sacromonte and Realejo barrios, where famous graffiti artists have left their mark with murals and paintings that have become insta-famous. Our Street Art Tour also takes you to the enchanting gypsy caves, best experienced at night for live music, dancing and beers.
Our hostel in Malaga offers city tours to get to know the history of this artistic centre, or beach trips for those who want some sun and sand. The adventurous will love the Chorro Hiking Trip which takes you into the Andalusian countryside – this is a full day romp in the mountains and streams of the national park – awesome!
For Flamenco Shows you can’t beat Seville; considered the beating heart for real Flamenco, said to have originated in the gypsy suburbs of the Triana neighbourhood. We have two hostels in the centre of Seville, offering a tour that shows the history, a full flamenco show, and an acoustic concert at one of the best flamenco places in the historic old town. Unmissable.
For a touch of nature, check out the waterfall hike we offer in our Granada hostel, to Los Cahorros in the Sierra Nevada. Only 30 minutes by bus and you will be hiking (very easily) through the peaceful national park past villages to the waterfall. This is run three times a week and at a chilled pace that everyone can enjoy – just bring your bathers!
Every Oasis Backpacker Hostel hosts an informative walking tour of their city, so you can wonder through the medieval streets of Malaga, Granada, Toledo or Sevilla without getting lost! Check out Seville for the ancient Arabic alcazar (fortress) and huge Gothic cathedral, the beautiful Parque Maria Luisa, the Corral del conde, and the Plaza de España to see the boat lake. If you prefer more pace with your tour, then get on your bike. We have bike tours that can whizz you around the city and blow away last night’s cervezas – see the city like a local and enjoy getting a little bit further than you can on foot.
Our surf hostel in Sintra offers tours of the town’s colourful palaces, 4x4 off-road experiences, horse- riding on the beach, wellness activities and, of course, our surf lessons. If you want to enjoy the Portuguese waves and wide-open beaches, then Oasis Backpackers Hostel Sintra Surf is the place for you. Our coastal walks, yoga classes and superb collection of restaurants will feed your body and soul!
If you’re looking for tourist sights, we can point you in the right direction, and for nightlife we’re pretty confident that we’ve got you covered. We can show you the best spots (our Lisbon Pubcrawl and Granda Bar Crawl of the Damned are insanely good) and ensure that you don’t miss out on what’s happening around town. We also won’t let you go hungry. We have our All You Can Eat BBQ in Lisbon in our garden, which is exactly as it sounds, and our regular dinners and local market shopping.
